About Skydive Chesapeake
Skydive Chesapeake operates Maryland's only fun jumper–friendly drop zone, located near Ridgely in the Baltimore/DC metro corridor. Positioned an hour south of Philadelphia and just 45 miles east of Annapolis, the dropzone serves jumpers across the Eastern Region with convenient access to two major metropolitan areas.
The operation is built around accessibility and versatility. Skydive Chesapeake offers both tandem skydiving and Accelerated Freefall (AFF) training for those pursuing their skydiving certification. The facility actively welcomes experienced fun jumpers, making it a hub for the regional skydiving community. The dropzone is equipped with a Cessna 182, a reliable platform for regular jump operations.
Beyond the core jumping programs, Skydive Chesapeake supports the full range of skydiving activities. The facility maintains designated camping areas, equipment rental and sales, packing services, rigging services, RV parking with electricity, shower facilities, and onsite videography—creating a complete resource for skydivers whether they're stopping by for a single jump or spending an extended period at the drop zone.
Located at Gooden Airpark in Ridgely, Maryland, the facility combines suburban convenience with the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere that appeals to skydivers across experience levels. For tandem students discovering skydiving for the first time, for AFF candidates building toward their license, and for fun jumpers logging regular jumps, Skydive Chesapeake has positioned itself as the accessible, jumper-friendly alternative in the mid-Atlantic region.
