Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Jump Slut (jumpslut.com) collects, why, and what we do with it. We've kept the language plain — if anything's unclear, email us and we'll explain.

1. Who We Are

Jump Slut is a skydiving-focused website operating out of Ontario, Canada. We run a dropzone directory, a set of free planning tools (weather, spotting, wingloading, the DZ display board), and we sell skydiving apparel (jerseys and related gear). This policy covers all of the above.

2. What We Collect

We collect different information depending on how you use the site.

Browsing the directory and using the free tools

You can use the directory, weather page, spotting tool, wingloading calculator, and DZ display boards without giving us anything. We don't require an account.

What we do collect automatically when you browse:

• Analytics data through Google Analytics 4 — pages viewed, session length, approximate location (city-level), device type, referrer. This is aggregated and used to understand how the site is used.
• Standard server logs — IP address, request time, browser user-agent — kept short-term for security and debugging.
• Cookies — small data files used by Google Analytics and to remember preferences (like your home DZ on the weather page). You can disable cookies in your browser; some convenience features won't work without them.

Downloads and optional sign-ups

If you download the downsizing checklist or opt in to weekend jumpability alerts, we collect what you provide — typically an email address, sometimes a phone number (for SMS alerts) and your home DZ. This is voluntary. The download itself isn't gated; you only give us contact details if you want the alerts.

Buying a jersey or other gear

If you place an order, we collect:

• Name, email, shipping address, phone (for delivery)
• Order details (sizes, designs, custom team artwork if applicable)
• Payment information — processed by our payment provider, not stored on our servers

Contact form / direct email

If you email us or use a contact form, we keep whatever you send — your message, your contact details, attachments — for as long as needed to handle the conversation.

3. How We Use It

• Run the site and the tools — serve pages, deliver downloads, send alerts you've opted into
• Fulfill orders — process jersey purchases, ship them, handle returns
• Improve the site — understand which DZ pages get used, which tools, where people drop off
• Respond to you — answer your messages, send order updates
• Detect abuse — block scrapers, spammers, and fraud attempts

We don't use your data for advertising, and we don't sell it. Period.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 for traffic and behaviour analytics. GA4 sets cookies that help us see (in aggregate) how the site is used. Google may process this data outside Canada — see Google's privacy practices.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on or by disabling cookies in your browser.

We don't run advertising trackers or social media pixels. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and tell you on the page.

5. Who We Share It With

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only as needed:

• Google Analytics (analytics)
• Our hosting provider (Vercel, for serving the site)
• Our payment processor (for jersey orders)
• Our shipping provider (for delivery — name and address only)
• Our email/SMS provider (Brevo / Twilio — for alerts and order updates if you've opted in)

We may also disclose information if required by law (subpoena, court order, etc.) or to protect the safety of users or our property.

We don't sell, rent, or trade personal information to anyone, for any reason.

6. International Data Flows

Some of our service providers (Google, Vercel, etc.) process data outside Canada — including in the United States and the European Union. Different countries have different privacy laws. By using this site, you understand and consent to your data being processed in those jurisdictions where our providers operate.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (Canada, the EU/UK, California, etc.), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct information that's wrong
• Delete your information (within limits — we may need to keep some records for tax, legal, or fraud-prevention reasons)
• Opt out of marketing emails or SMS at any time (every message has an unsubscribe link)
• Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing

8. How Long We Keep It

• Analytics data — kept by Google Analytics for up to 14 months
• Email/SMS subscribers — until you unsubscribe, then a short suppression record so we don't accidentally re-add you
• Order records — kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires (currently 6 years)
• Contact form messages — kept as long as the conversation is active, then archived or deleted

9. Security

We use HTTPS site-wide, modern hosting infrastructure (Vercel), and we don't store payment information on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable precautions and we'd tell you promptly if a real breach affected your data.

10. Children

The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Skydiving itself is an adults-and-supervised-minors sport, and our content is written for adult jumpers and prospective jumpers. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves (new tools, new providers, new features). Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
