About Maytown Sport Parachute Club

Maytown Sport Parachute Club is one of the oldest skydiving clubs in the United States, serving first-time jumpers, students training to skydive, and experienced skydivers from a family-friendly dropzone near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Located at Donegal Springs Airport in Marietta, PA, the club sits within easy reach of Lancaster, Lebanon, York, Baltimore, and Washington DC—making it accessible to a dense population corridor in the Mid-Atlantic.

The dropzone operates with a wide-open design zone featuring very few obstacles and a skydiver-oriented approach to safety and experience. Year-round, Maytown offers jumps on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until sunset, with additional Daylight Saving Time slots on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. until sunset. The club flies a Cessna 182, enabling consistent operations and reliable scheduling.

For first-time skydivers, Maytown Sport Parachute Club offers tandem skydiving with USPA-certified instructors at $265 per person. No deposit is required, though a credit card must be on file; a $10 cash discount is available, bringing the price to $255. Video and photo packages—HD video with still photos—are offered at $139, or discounted to $134 with cash. Tandem jumps are available by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays only, with the important note that scheduled time is arrival time, not jump time; weather and other factors can affect actual jump windows.

The club operates an Instructor Assisted Deployment (IAD) program for students pursuing solo skydiving certification. IAD First Jump Courses and first skydives cost $200; subsequent jumps with gear and instruction run $100 each. Package deals incentivize progression: 15 jumps are priced at $1,425 (saving $75), and 25 jumps cost $2,450 (saving $150). USPA membership is required to jump at Maytown, and the club recommends purchasing a temporary 90-day membership ($30) before the first jump. Classes run Saturdays and Sundays during March through September and start at 9 a.m., rain or shine. After 5–6 hours of ground school, students make a solo jump from 3,500 feet and enjoy a 4- to 5-minute radio-assisted canopy ride to the ground.

The facility provides equipment rental and sales, rigging services, and Wi-Fi. The club emphasizes creating amazing experiences over maximizing commercial volume—a distinction the site highlights as central to its approach.
