About Pegasus Skydive Center
# Pegasus Skydive Center Description
Pegasus Skydive Center, located in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania, operates from the heart of the Poconos with stunning views of surrounding mountains. Manhattan is visible on clear days. The dropzone is positioned approximately 75 miles west of Allentown and five miles from the nearest hotel, serving skydivers across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.
The center operates Cessna aircraft—both a Cessna 206 and Cessna Caravan—and emphasizes professional, experienced staff prioritizing safety and memorable experiences. The operation runs with extended seasonal hours: April through October every day from 8:00 AM to sunset, with March and November operating weekends only.
Pegasus Skydive Center welcomes first-time tandem jumpers and licensed skydivers alike. For those pursuing solo skydiving credentials, the facility offers comprehensive AFF (Accelerated Freefall) courses structured in two parts. The AFF program includes ground school covering parachute deployment, tandem jumps for foundational skills, and progressive AFF jumps with instructor supervision. Trainees work toward an A-License, the stepping stone for independent skydiving worldwide. The licensing pathway requires a minimum of 25 jumps, including six with a skydiving coach and at least two jumps from lower altitude (Hop & Pop). The facility provides structured check-dive and test protocols to verify proficiency before USPA license certification.
The dropzone accepts fun jumpers holding valid USPA credentials and accommodates currency jump requirements and license progression. Coaches offer comprehensive packing instruction in a supportive environment that encourages repeated practice and independent parachute packing confidence.
Pegasus Skydive Center provides extensive amenities to enhance the skydiving experience. On-site facilities include a bunkhouse with beds, designated camping area, equipment rental and sales, load organizers, packing service, rigging service, RV space with electricity, team rooms, videography, and Wi-Fi. These accommodations support groups and solo jumpers planning extended visits.
The facility hosts specialized events and experiences. Recent offerings include naked skydiving opportunities in partnership with The Naked Nomads, a group that provides clothing-optional skydiving experiences at the center. Sunny Rest, a nearby resort setting, serves as the designated location for this unique offering.
The scenic Poconos location, combined with professional instruction, state-of-the-art equipment, and a commitment to safety, positions Pegasus Skydive Center as a comprehensive destination for tandem passengers, student skydivers, and licensed jumpers seeking quality skydiving in northeastern Pennsylvania.
